Ipsy Glam Bag Plus October Review

The first ever Ipsy Glam Bag Plus has launched and I’m more excited than ever. Following in Boxycharm’s footsteps, Ipsy also released a new subscription. With Ipsy Glam Bag Plus, you pay $25 a month for about 5 or 6 FULL SIZE products and every three month’s you get a pretty decent size makeup bag. They rolled out a test run with this subscription using beauty influencer’s last month and it definitely got the attention of viewers. The box comes in a very pretty hot pink color, upon opening it is has a really cool quote that I love that says “Don’t be pretty like them. Be pretty like you.” LOVE IT! It is a much bigger box than that of Boxycharm’s regular size box and there are a couple of different variations. The original $10 subscription is still available but now you get to chose which one you want the most or both. Let’s get into what the first ever glam bag plus is bringing us this month.

Ciate London Dewey Spritz Luminous Prime & Set Spray:

I loveddddd how this spray reminded me of unicorns! This setting spray gives you this illuminating glow and looks so cool in the bottle. It leaves your makeup set and gives you this hydrating refreshed look to start your day. The only thing I wasn’t too crazy about is the scent. I don’t know how to describe it but I just don’t like it. Other than that I really like it and love the packaging. Retails for $25.

Smashbox Cover Shot Eye Palette In Bold Glitter:

My goodness the GLITTER PIGMENT!! This palette is amazing!!! It’s a small little palette but it has some beautiful glitter shades. The inside of the palette comes with a mirror, which I like. The payoff on these jewel toned shades is really nice. They work best by using your finger to pack onto your lid. I almost missed out on the fact that the shade names are on top of the box it comes in. You won’t see them in the palette or on the back. So if you’re looking for them, they’ll be at the top of the box. Pair these glitter shimmery shades onto shadow already on your lid or wear them alone. Retails for $29

Morphe High Impact Highlighter in Extra:

This is my first highlighter from Morphe and I love it. It feels really soft and buttery. It has a combination of being a subtle highlighter but with a little bit of that extra shine. So it’s not too bold and it’s not too soft. It’s just right. I love how it comes with a mirror as well and for the price, it’s a steal!! Retails for $14

Purlisse Beauty Blue Lotus Seed Mud Mask & Exfoliant:

My favorite item in the box! This mud mask is the equivalent of giving yourself a mini facial at home. It left my face feeling smooth, brighter, and an overall clean feeling. It made my pores look smaller and made my skin look so much healthier. There’s a combo of Blue Lotus Seeds, White Clay, Bamboo, Ginger, White Tea, and Mushroom Extract to help detox, tighten, brighten, soothe, and exfoliate the skin. The results are there with this product. If you’re looking to try a mud mask and exfoliant, look no further. Retails for $48.

Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner:

This liner couldn’t have come at a better time. I was running low on my Kat Von D tattoo liner so I needed a new liner and I’m glad this one came in. This liner was very easy to work with. I was able to use it multiple ways. I’ve created a wing with it and I just used it recently to create a Halloween inspired look. It’s smudge free, which I loved and you can create very thin lines with it or go big and create thicker lines. I loved it and I’m glad that a GOOD liner came in my box. Retails for $22.

Tarte Cosmetics Maneater Mascara:

One of my favorite collections is the Maneater collection from Tarte. My favorite product was the eyeliner pencil that every time you would put the cap back on and open it again, it would sharpen the pencil. Love it! Now I get to try out the Maneater Mascara. First off, the packaging is AWESOME!! I love leopard print and the packaging has spots everywhere. It actually looks like my tattoo. This mascara grabs every lash and gives it that flirty look. I love how it gives that false lash effect. The only thing is, I wouldn’t say it’s a dramatic lash mascara but it still looks really nice. I would use this as an everyday mascara. I like how it has jojoba and carnauba wax in it, which helps strengthen and protect your lashes. I definitely recommend it. Retails for $23.

Makeup Bag:

So as you know, with the Glam Bag Plus you only receive a makeup bag every three month’s as opposed to monthly. I think that’s great as I felt I had way too many bags and didn’t know what to do with them. This bag is much bigger than your typical Ipsy bag. It’s very stylish with it’s watermelon pink color and maroon pocket on the front. Everything I got this month fits in this bag, which is great and it feels much sturdier than the regular bags. This bag was a hit.

Final Thoughts:

Overall, I LOVED Ipsy Glam Bag Plus!! All of these products are products that I would use. The Purlisse Blue Lotus Seed Mud Mask was my favorite item in the box, followed by the Eyeko liner. The Smashbox palette has me thinking about what looks I want to create and the Morphe highlighter is perfect to go with it. I can stare at the Maneater mascara all day just with the packaging alone, it won my heart. I love how I can give myself that false lash look but not too over dramatic for let’s say work. I love dramatic lashes but I’m not going to be wearing dramatic lashes at work. The dewey spritz from Ciate London, gives me spring vibes with unicorns flying over rainbows. It sets the makeup perfectly and gives a refreshing hydrating feel to your skin. I definitely recommend Ipsy Glam Bag Plus over their original $10 subscription if you are a makeup junkie. I’m so excited to see what November will bring. Remember if you want to sign up and you already have Ipsy, you can upgrade to Glam Bag Plus or if you want to have both, I believe you have to have two separate accounts. Either way I think Ipsy leveled up as Boxycharm did with their subscription and both are my current fave. The link is down below if you would like to sign up or upgrade.
